Motherhood Monthly - Your Free Parenting Magazine
It has been a very busy month for Elaine and me. Our free online parenting magazine Motherhood Monthly was launched on Valentine’s Day 2009.
Motherhood Monthly is a free subscription based online magazine where you can view the magazine virtually. Else, you can also download a pdf version of it to read it offline. In fact, if you read something interesting in the articles, you can click on the magazine to link directly to the website to find out more. Continue reading ‘Launch of Motherhood Monthly’

I am a prediabetic and actually has my own blog in stopprediabetes.com. Earlier this year, i set a resolution to bring more awareness to this chronic illness through my site.
Talking about law of attraction -> somebody from diabetes.com.sg actually found one of the post i made early last year in one of the sg forums. They are looking at ways to reach out to the diabetic community in singapore and thought of getting people to blog about how a diabetic lives. Continue reading ‘Blogging For a Good Cause’

The new year 2009 is already in her second week. How has it been going so far for you? Have you even set your resolutions yet?
As for me, it has been a great start so far and i am still quite in line with my Resolutions 2009.
For a start, we brought Ashton and Ashlyn to the MacRitchie Reservoir for a morning walk (Resolution #13). Ashton is very excited about the trip, running around looking for tortises, walking through the “jungle” and trying to get “lost” in jungle.
Below are pictures of Ashton posing in front of MacRitchie Reservoir and both Ashton & Ashlyn playing on a bench.

I am really looking forward to Elaine’s Free Online Parenting magazine January 2009. I see her putting in lots of efforts in it - contacting writers, photo contributors, expert columns, parenting experts etc and of course now the final lap - PUTTING ALL IN TOGETHER before the launch.
So now since she is busy with the Jan issue, i am being tasked to look for children’s photos for the February issue of Motherhood Monthly. I promised to support her fully in this magazine in my new year resolution 2009. Continue reading ‘Looking Forward To Elaine’s Free Online Parenting Magazine’

My post on my investment challenge with my good friend has generated some interest and some people are actually asking me for stock investment advice.
I do not think it is appropriate to give any stock investment advice especially when nobody can predict the market. Anyway, there are no lack of sites on stock investing advice so you may visit them at your own discretion.
That said, i think there will be no harm if we were to just highlight whatever stocks are under our radar for the singapore stock market/exchange SGX.
Well of course if you have any good suggestions, please feel free to leave some comments. This is to enhance everybody’s knowledge for better investment.
Under my radar now : currently looking at my all time favourite Singtel, Raffles Medical, Chuan Hup. Continue reading ‘Stock Investment Advice For Investment Challenge’

Ashton used to be unresponsive to dancing and singing but after attending Little Neuro Tree, otherwise known as Trio Centre, he began to like it. (Read post on Ashton In Little Neuro Tree)
So every now and then, Ashton will hum us a song or two but last night, something amazing happened. Ashton suddenly sang to us Mary Had a Little Lamb in JAPANESE….yes, in JAPANESE. (See Video Below)
He must have learnt it in Little Neuro Tree i thought because that is the only place he is exposed to Japanese language until Elaine tugged my shirt and told me “Little Neuro Tree did not teach this song at all”. I am writing this post to help a friend’s friend. Do i know her? No but i still want to help her.
My friend’s friend is a single mother and is seeking to earn some extra income to support her daughter. I am a parent too so i can understand how much it costs to raise a kid nowadays.
Since Chinese New Year is just round the corner, I am sure many of you will be buying CNY cookies for your friends and relatives or for yourself. The cookies looked delicious and good…too bad i can’t eat due to my prediabetes.
If you are buying CNY cookies, how about considering ordering from her instead? You can request for free samples too. (Updates : If you need samples, please contact my friend Vivien Lee via email to vilee@hotmail.com)
Check out this website for details onlinehomemadecookies.blogspot.com

If you have read my post on Resolutions and Goals for 2009, you will know that one of my goals will be to read at least 12 self improvement books.
The very first book i picked up for Year 2009 is a book i found on my book shelf, which have tonnes of self improvement books. The book title is “How to Sell Anything to Anybody” by “The World’s Greatest Salesman - Joe Girard”.
This is a book bought by Elaine and i guessed she probably have not read it yet as she has tonnes of parenting books to read herself for more parenting tips. The reason why i chose this “How to Sell Anything to Anybody” book is because of T. Harv Eker’s advice - Learn Marketing - it is a single most important skill master so as to succeed. Happy New Year and holidays over so time for serious planning for the year 2009. Usually i will set my year’s resolution within the first week of the new year and i will just write on my little white board at home. This will make sure that i will always see it everyday and remind me my goals for the year.
This year i am going to do so differently, i am going to publish in my personal blog…which is right here in Poh Heng (inspired by Adam Khoo’s post http://www.adam-khoo.com/176/a-new-year-begins/) - he is the person i model after getting his Secrets of Self Made Millionaires training. This is to make sure that everyone is aware of my resolution and remind me, motivate me, suan me, encourage me etc and make me stay challenged.
So here are my Resolutions and Goals Year 2009
- Increase my business, Xiao Bei Taiwan Food, revenue by 20%
- Push for second Xiao Bei outlet by franchise or existing business partners

Today is the last day of Year 2008. Whoa, what a year it has been to me and my family and it is the right time to review 2008 before welcoming 2009.
Health
Being diagnosed with prediabetes (which can be reversed) in 2007 means a total upheaval in my life. No longer can i just drink Coke or any other drinks. Looking at the food labels is my favourite activity now…..err…not for Made In China on melamine but more for sugar and glucose contents. Continue reading ‘Review 2008 and Welcome 2009′
