A Wake Up Call

Jogging keeps you healthy

We hold weekly meetings in Xiao Bei on Wednesday nights.

During the meeting last night, i saw one of my partner had a deep cut on his forehead.  He told us that he fainted at home and cut himself and was bloodied all over.  He said it’s like he been through “death” and woke up…

Apparently he ate something wrong and had very bad stomachache.  It was so painful that he fainted.  When he woke up, he was bleeding profusely on his head and arm (he showed us multiple cuts).

He went to see his family doctor the next morning and was “scolded” for half an hour.  Scolded for cutting himself and fainting???  NO….for not taking care of his health.

He was labeled “short and fat” by the doctor who ordered him to lose weight >5kg within a month and watch his diet.

After he related what happened, he told me that wow, this incident was like a wake up call to him.  He felt like he actually “died” and then “came back to life” as he don’t remember anything during the period he passed out and boy, he was scared.  Who wouldn’t be?

You see, my friend was “apple shaped” in built i.e. big tummy. Drinks lots of alcohol and of course lots of unhealthy food.  Now he is serious about his health because his baby is due this coming October.

I was also the same, i was not too health conscious until i was diagnosed with prediabetes which was also like a wakeup call to me to take of my health first.  I used to have the “later then say” attitude like “eat first, diet later” which never happen as i kept eating unhealthy food.

Eversince i had the disease, my entire lifestyle changed dramatically i.e. healthy food, more exercise and spending more time with family.  I was very glad that i have prediabetes and not other illness like cancer.  I am very much healthier now and reversing prediabetes.

My question to you is “Are you healthy now?”.  If not, why are you waiting?  Why wait for something bad to happen before taking actions?  If you can be healthy, do it now before you regret.
