The full mobile number portability starts today. What does it means to you as a consumer?
In the past, if you want change a telco for your mobile phone, chances are you have to give up your old number or if there is a number forwarding service, it would probably be for up to 6 months for you to notify your contacts.
This certainly puts off many people due to troublesome of updating the whole world of your new number and in case your friends or business contacts can’t find you.
I am one of them. I have been using my mobile number ever since i graduated and started work in 1999. Have thought of changing the telco a couple of times but decided not to. It is simply too much trouble.
Now that this scheme is out, yeah, we do have a choice now isn’t it and all the telcos will be on their toes to keep up their price and service but i am holding steady now as i am sure they will offer more baits for you to switch in months to come. So Friday 13th will not be the day i switch telco in case it gets unlucky.
