The time of the year has come again for the Singapore to celebrate her 43rd birthday.
Normally, there will be lots of NDP rehearsals before the actual day itself. This means great ideas on where to spend the saturday evenings if you have kids.
What we will do we will bring our children to see the rehearsals “LIVE”. This year’s NDP’08 rehearsals are especially good because there are many items that can be seen from Marina Bay & Esplanade area and there are fireworks display. Previous year’s firework display were mostly on full dress rehearsals and actual day only.

My children loves it alot, even Ashlyn who is bearly 1 year old and was screaming with joy and clapping as the Chinook with the Singapore Flag flew past. My dear boy Ashton likes the Bird Balloons, Black Knights and Fireworks so much that he kept occupying my laptop to view photos and videos taken by us.
The items that can be “seen” and “heard” for this year NDP includes (timings are rough guide).
NDP 08 Pre-Parade Segment
- Bay Show inclusive of F3000 powerboats, wakeboarders, jet ski, pargo jets and stunt kites.
- Singapore Armed Forces SAF Red Lions Military Free Fallers ~ 1740hrs
NDP 08 Parade Segment
- RSAF CH-47D Chinook Flypast with the Singapore flag escorted by Attack Apache Helicopters ~ 1840hrs
- RSAF F-16C Bomb Burst Flypast ~ 1845hrs
- Guard of Honor Feu-de-joie and Presidential 21 Gun Salute
- RSAF Black Knights F16s Aerial Display ~ 1905hrs
- Balloons (Birds) on Naval Boats~ 1920hrs
- Fireworks ~ 2000hrs
