Read the newspaper headlines today? The ERP rates are going up again in July 2008. With the increasing cost of living, i am sure this increase is going to hurt many in the pockets.
For a start, i don’t really think it will solve the problem as the rest of the roads will be jammed up.
If you ask me, so are you going to stop driving? Of course not, that will be silly. Most people get a car because they need it. Like in my previous job, i am required to shuttle quite alot within Singapore. Moreover, i have 2 small kids aged 2.5 years and the other 10 months. Those who are parents will know how difficult it is to bring 2 young ones around.
Even though i am not working now, i need to go to class in city area and have to pass through these ERP gantries and guess i just have to pay.
Therefore, instead of grumbling about the increase costs, the other best way is to manage your money well, generate more cashflow or earn more money.
In later posts, i am going to share with you some money management tips that i have used and works so stay tuned.

Hi PH,
I simply love your picture of the ERP gantry in the middle of the sea, even the wind powered sail boat got to pay, ridiculous right?
It totally relates to the escalating situation on hand, imagine having going through at least 3 ERPs on a single straight road every day, very “Siong” on the wallet.
Hi Derrick,
Agree. Just received more pics on ERPs right on the lifts etc, so funny. Anyway, don’t think ERP will solve anything, just shift cars to other roads which will jam eventually and more ERP gantries.
So remember to visit my new site on money tips when its ready.
