Haven’t really been writing my blog…hmm was busy with many other stuff. I am still working on my new site which will be about tips on growing wealth.
Am i very wealthy? Of course not. Am i financially independent? Sorry to say, not yet.
BUT…my house is fully paid for and same goes to my car. What it means? It means i am debt-free…no housing loan, no car loan, no credit card loans whatsoever and a respectable portfolio to show.
Being debt free is a wonderful thing and feeling which enabled me to quit my job in June to recuperate (diagnosed with prediabetes last year).
Many friends actually asked me how i was able to attain debt-free status though my wife is not working and have 2 young kids. The reason is very simple - good financial planning and money management skills.
Since young, my father has instilled a very good financial knowledge in me such that i always manage my money well, save quite a bit and also invest. Because of these good knowledge, i am able to really take a rest when required. Disclaimer : i do not live in bungalow or drive luxury car. I actually stay in HDB flat and drive a Nissan but then again, those are only an impression of wealth.
How wealthy you are depends on any many months you can survive if you were to stop work now? Hint : A simpler lifestyle can make you go longer but it really depends what you want.
As for me, i want to be able to spend time with my kids and family instead of spending hours at work to pay off all the loans so that i get the “impression” of wealth. Get it?
Anyway, no matter what you set to achieve financially, my new site will definitely be of great interest to you. Stay tuned for my updates ya.
